Sensorial Lisbon
Sensorial Lisbon was a hell of a cool project to create and design.
Sensorial Lisbon are blindfolded tour walks through Alfama neighbourhood in Lisbon, where participants are blindfolded and guided by a blind guide from ACAPO (Blind Association of Portugal) who shares his sensory references, with a Lisbon Walker guide, who gives the historical contextualization of the route, and 4 other elements from the community, who help the participants to walk through the space.
The project had two main objectives:
To provide a sensorial experience, which aims to build a new knowledge of space by stimulating the senses of smell, touch, taste and hearing through the absence of sight.
To raise awareness of the universe of blindness, not in a disabling sense, but in a positive and stimulating sense, in which the blind themselves invite us to enter their world of codes and references.
