Ampla - Film Showcase

Ampla was born from a personal need. We wanted to create a cinema event that was genuinely accessible, not as an add on or special session, but as a shared experience where everyone could watch films together, in the same room, on equal terms.

Ampla is a film showcase built around a curated selection of award-winning films presented at Portugal’s main film festivals in the previous year. From the very beginning, accessibility wasn’t treated as a constraint, but as a creative and structural principle.

The entire programme was designed to be fully accessible: all films include pre-recorded audio description, Portuguese Sign Language interpretation and descriptive subtitles, and the venues are carefully chosen to guarantee autonomy and physical accessibility for all audiences.

Alongside co-founding Ampla, I am also responsible for its communication as Head of Communication, overseeing the project’s voice, positioning and visual presence. The event is currently in its third edition, continuing to grow as a cultural space where inclusion is not an exception, but the norm.
